Are you looking for that extra touch in your baking, or life? Rose petal syrup can elevate that to the next level!
Rose’s is something I always associate with a bit of luxury and elegance. Whenever, I have a self-care day or need to elevate my baking I add rose petal syrup and it emidetly feels and tastes better. Research shows that roses have many health benefits for you such as skin health, anti-aging, reduces inflammation and more. You can use it in baths, face water, teas and baking for example.
This recipe is made with only a few ingredients and by actually going out and picking the roses yourself it can be a nice little adventure. The only ingredients you need is rose petals, sugar, pekin and water. We add additionally, dry white wine and lemon but that is up to you what extra flavours you want to add.
Pekin is a baking and cooking thickener. It is a soluble fiber which often can be found in fruits.
When you store the rose syrup make sure it is in a air tight bottle. Some examples can be wine bottles or glass bottled with the cap on top which we are using – seen in the picture above. These bottles are great, they keep the liquid perserved inside and it is easy to open and close. It might be a bit difficult to wash it if you don’t have a washing mashine like us – it just needs more time. You can find this glass bottes in normal grocery stores, and antique shops or you can order them on Amazon here.
